The Mini Mk3 (1969 - 1976), born in November 1969.

The Austin and Morris names were dropped,
now known solely as the Mini.

Mk3 Mini's seen the changes of external door hinges for internal hinges.
Wind-up front windows and larger quarter lights now standard.


Removal of Mk1 and Mk2 style door pockets.

The Clubman, Clubman Estate and 1275 GT were born.

Cooper 998cc and Countryman and Estate died in this year.

Mk3 engines could be 848cc, 998cc or 1275cc in the case of the 1275 GT and Cooper 'S'

Until the end of 1972 the 850 model retained the magic wand gear change.

Start of 1973 seen the use of the remote gear change for all models.

850cc and 1000cc models reverted to the original dry suspension.

Clubman, Saloon , 1275 GT and Cooper 'S' were hydrolastic until 1971.

1275 GT and Cooper 'S' had the 7.5" disc brakes, with rear drums.

All other models still had drums all round with twin leading shoes.

Bumper over riders were fitted to the Cooper 'S' and can be found on the 1000 as an option.
