The Mini Mk1 (1959 - 1967), the first born of the Mini marks.

All Mk1 Saloons, Estates, Automatic and Commercials, had a 848cc engine
with a three-synchro gearbox with a magic wand gear change.

Drum brakes all round, with single leading shoe up to August 1964
and then twin leading show from then on.


Fitted with dry rubber cone suspension until 1964,
thereafter Saloons were fitted with hydrolastic suspension.

Estates and Commercials retained the dry suspension.


The Coopers however and various engine available: 970cc, 997cc, 998cc, 1071cc and 1275cc.

With a three-synchro gearbox with a remote gear change as opposed to the standard magic wand version.

997cc Coopers were fitted with 7" discs and rear drums.

998cc Coopers were fitted with 7" discs with improved calipers and rear drums.

Cooper 'S' were fitted with 7.5" discs and rear drums with built in spacers.

Fitted with dry rubber cone suspension until 1964 thereafter Coopers were fitted with hydrolastic suspension.
